Hokies return to Lane Stadium for Senior Day tilt against Pitt

Tech plays host to Panthers, kickoff set for 3:30 p.m

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech football team is back on the field on Saturday, November 23 for a home contest against ACC Coastal Division foe Pitt. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2. Prior to kickoff, there will be a ceremony to honor Tech's senior class.

HOKIES SET FOR SENIOR DAY VS. PITT                
• VT will honor its seniors on Saturday as Tech hosts defending ACC Coastal champ Pitt in VT's home finale (11/23). Since joining the ACC, Tech is 13-2 in Senior Day contests.   
• VT is coming off a 45-0 win at GT (11/16), extending the nation's longest active bowl streak to 27 straight seasons.
• Pitt got a 34-27 OT win on Thursday night win vs. UNC (11/14). 
• After starting 0-2 in ACC play, VT owns a four-game conference winning streak and is seeking five straight league wins since accomplishing that feat (11/18/17 - 11/13/18).
• Tech closes out the regular season with a battle for the Commonwealth Cup next Friday at Virginia (11/29). 
KEY SCORING STATS ON HOKIES, PANTHERS 
• VT is 22-3 when scoring 30+ points under Fuente, including a 14-0 mark at Lane Stadium. 
• Since the start of the 2017 season Pitt is 4-10 when allowing 30+ points (2-1 in 2019) and 10-2 when scoring 30+ points (3-0 in 2019).
• VT owns a 35.6-19.2 ppg scoring edge in its last five games & has allowed 12.7 ppg the last three games. 
• VT is 29-1 when holding opponents to 21 points or fewer since 2015. VT has won 24 straight games when limiting foes to 17 points or fewer (5-0 in 2019).  
• Tech owns a 79-4 (.952) mark at Lane Stadium when holding foes to 17 points or less dating back to 2000. 
• Dating back to 2017 Pitt is 1-13 when scoring 17 points or fewer, including a 1-3 mark in 2019.

HOOKER STILL UNDEFEATED AS VT'S STARTER
• QB Hendon Hooker is 5-0 as VT's starter, completing 58 of 95 passes (61.1%) for 973 yards with eight TDs and no INTs (174.9 rating) in those contests. 
• Hooker has also rushed 63 times for 239 yards with four TDs, including two rushing TDs at GT (11/16). 
TALE OF THE TURNOVER TAPE FOR VT, PITT 
• VT has committed four turnovers in its last five victories after turning the ball over 11 times in its first four games. 
• Tech registered three takeaways in its first four games and has accumulated 12 in its last six contests. 
• VT is 10-2 under Fuente when registering two or more INTs. The Hokies have registered six INTs in the last three games.  
• Only Clemson (13) has more INTs than Tech (12) in 2019l.
• Pitt is even (11 takes/11 gives) in its seven wins in 2019 and -4 (1 take/5 gives) in its three losses.
